Artist Statement

As an artist, I am fascinated by the beauty and mystery of the natural world. My artwork uses experimental techniques to explore the intersection between botanical forms and surrealism. It is not meant to be a literal representation of the botanical world, but rather a reflection of emotions and feelings that the natural world evokes.

The artistic process involves taking traditional subject matter and transforming it through a combination of methods. I use the lumen process to expose flowers directly onto photographic paper, which creates unique and unpredictable images. After photographing the lumen prints, I then use digital manipulation to enhance these images adding texture and depth to create surreal compositions.

By experimenting with different techniques and processes, I can create images that are dreamlike and invite the viewer into a world of fantasy and imagination. My goal as a photographer is to produce fine art images that inspire the viewer to evoke a sense of wonder.
